Barbara Mills QC calls for action, tackling race inequality in the legal profession.

In an article published in The Guardian, our very own Barbara Mills QC, who is also co-chair of the Bar Council’s race working group, and one of only five black QC’s in England and Wales, has said ‘the time has come for action and “no more talk” when it comes to tackling race inequality in the legal profession’. Barbara describes the next 12 months ‘as “critical” to tackling systemic obstacles at the bar.’

Joy Brereton and Michael Gration to be appointed Queen’s Counsel

4PB is delighted to announce that Joy Brereton and Michael Gration will be appointed to the rank of Her Majesty’s Counsel by the Lord Chancellor, taking the number of silks at chambers to 20.

The Lord Chancellor will preside over the appointment ceremony at Westminster Hall on 21st March 2022, where they will be formally bestowed the title of QC.

Griffiths v Tickle: Members of Chambers represent Rights of Women in intervention in Transparency Proceedings

Two members of 4PB, Chris Barnes and Charlotte Baker, led by Caoilfhionn Gallagher QC of Doughty Street Chambers represented Rights of Women in their intervention in the High Court and Court of Appeal.
