Our members are frequently instructed in appellate matters (usually in the High Court and Court of Appeal) and have been involved in some of the leading cases shaping the Family Court’s approach to private children law.

Our expertise includes:

  • Child arrangements orders, including orders for shared care
  • Relocations, both internationally and within the UK
  • Specific issues, such as questions of religion, medical treatment, education and holidays abroad
  • The enforcement of existing orders
  • Cases involving concerns about child abduction and appropriate safeguards
  • Allegations of domestic and sexual abuse, as well as cases where it is said such allegations are false
  • Parents with substance misuse or addiction problems, and/or issues with mental ill-health or psychiatric disorders
  • Intractable disputes, including where children refuse to see one of their parents, or where the parent-child relationship has otherwise broken down
  • Issues arising from the breakdown of surrogacy arrangements or adoptions
  • Cases involving issues regarding the media, publication and transparency

Our members recognise that disputes about children can be acutely stressful for all involved and to that end, are skilled at offering a wide range of solutions, including forms of non-court dispute resolution where appropriate. We represent people from all walks of life, and predominately parents, children and grandparents.
