Completing a mini pupillage at 4PB is an opportunity for students and others who are interested in becoming a barrister to have a taste of life at the Bar.

As we are a specialist set, it is likely to be of particular interest to those attracted to all aspects of family law and Court of Protection work.

We offer approximately 20 mini pupillages each year.  Mini pupillages are offered for three days and are available in March, April, June, July, November and December each year.  Candidates should submit their applications as follows:

  • In January for March/April
  • In May for June/July
  • In September for November/December

Candidates must be at least 18.  We try to provide mini pupils with experience of a range of Chambers’ work during their time with us.   A confidentiality agreement must be signed before the start of a mini pupillage.

Candidates without prior experience of family law and Court of Protection work are encouraged to apply. Chambers pays a contribution of £30 per day towards a mini pupil’s expenses.

Applications should be made by email to Jonathan Evans at minipupillage@4pb.com with a CV and covering letter setting out your reasons for applying to 4PB. Please send this along with an Equality and Diversity Monitoring Form.
