Katharine is a financial remedy practitioner who takes on complex cases often  involving company structures, trusts, jurisdiction and international issues. She has a particularly long standing practice in trusts of land work which is most often found in cases with intervenors.

Katharine is a very approachable barrister with a long experience of complex cases involving alienating behaviours, high conflict, domestic abuse and same sex relationships. She appears in the High Court and Family Courts across the country with a particular history in East Anglia.

Katharine undertakes international child abduction work under the Hague Convention.

Katharine is a trained arbitrator for finances and children. She has wide experience of arbitration, private FDRs, lawyer led mediation and round table meetings and is a great proponent of non court dispute resolution in the right case.

Katharine frequently lectures for MBL, Lawnet, Professional Conferences, For Media Group and Lexis. She lectures in person and online, both recorded and live. In the last year she has lectured for 4PB, lectured the Malaysian family bar and last Spring went to the US to lecture the New York State Bar Association’s first worldwide Symposium on Crypto currency

The lecturing gives her a broad base of up to date legal knowledge at her finger tips.

This live session will also address the sharp rise in covert recordings, including recordings of children, parties or experts. New guidance has significantly changed how these recordings are treated. It will examine issues of authenticity, the procedure for seeking to admit such evidence, how to oppose it, and the arguments available on both sides.

Advocacy in Financial Remedy Proceedings – Learn Live

This virtual classroom seminar will assist with promoting confidence in advocacy in the singular types of hearings that arise in financial remedy proceedings particularly in light of the new March 2026 Financial Remedy Court Guidance.

This live session will work through each stage of the process from issuing proceedings through to past FDR, focusing specifically on the advocacy issues. This will incorporate the Rules that we have to follow in the preparation and presentation of the evidence, any relevant case law and of course will be heavily weighted towards practice points on how to best argue your client’s case and defend common arguments that you will encounter.

Your obligations under the Financial Remedy Court Guidance will be considered and referred to throughout this live session.
