The 4PB International Child Law group are presenting an afternoon seminar on Thursday 12th June at the Crowne Plaza London – The City (near Blackfriars Station).

Family Fortune: The Trials and Tribulations of an International Family in breakdown

Everyone thought the Fortune Family had it all.  And they did.  The paradigm of the international family.  But the Fortune cookie was about to crumble.  Explore with the 4PB group, contemporary developments and the legal consequences of relationship breakdown for the international family.

Through a series of court based role-plays and panel-led discussions over the course of the afternoon the following issues will be considered:

  • jurisdiction on divorce, (habitual residence of adults, domicile, Mittal and forum non conveniens)
  • abduction, (habitual residence of children, child’s objections and joinder)
  • temporary and permanent relocation, (allocation, expert evidence, security, current themes in permanent relocation)
  • Reciprocal enforcement, retention of jurisdiction and mirror orders, (retention of jurisdiction clauses, mirror orders, reciprocal enforcement under BIIR and 1996 Hague Convention)

The event will be accredited with 3 CPD.

The event is free of charge.
