In the matter of A, B and C (Adoption: Notification of Fathers and Relatives) 2020] EWCA Civ 41, Catherine Wood QC represented the Guardian in a case where the birth of a child had been concealed from the Father.
This Court of Appeal judgment gives guidance on the issue of notification to the father or relatives in cases where the mother wishes to relinquish the child for the adoption but has concealed her pregnancy and does not wish the father/or family to be informed of the child’s existence.
Catherine Wood QC leading Sara Anning of ParkLane Plowden successfully represented the Guardian in the appeal which is now the leading authority on this issue.
