Committal to prison for 18 months was appropriate for a father of three children who, having wrongfully separated them from their mother while they were on holiday in Nigeria, had persistently and deliberately disobeyed court orders to arrange their return to England. The children had not seen their mother for five years and were not living with either of their parents; that was a grave situation brought about entirely by the father.
