An Afghan national with British citizenship was ordered to provide information about the whereabouts of his six-year-old son who, although he was a British national, was not known to have ever been present in the UK. The order was necessary for the child’s welfare and protection.

A mother applied for an order that the father of their six-year-old son (Z) provide information about Z’s whereabouts and his general circumstances.
