A mini pupillage at 4PB is an opportunity for those interested in a career at the Bar and particularly in Family Law to gain experience at this specialist set.

Candidates must be 18 years of age. Given the demand for such experience, previously successful candidates will not be offered further mini pupillages. While we hope that able candidates will go on to consider a career at the Bar it is not a prior requirement for pupillage that a mini pupillage has been undertaken with us.

Given the sensitive nature of the work, mini pupils must sign a confidentiality agreement prior to the commencement of their pupillage. Mini pupils are expected to dress in appropriate dark business clothes. A contribution of £10 per day is paid towards a mini pupil’s expenses. Mini pupillages usually last for three days. Mini pupillages are available in March, April, June, July, November and December  each year but are limited to 30 places across the year. As there is very high demand for places during the Summer vacation, candidates are encouraged to apply for mini pupillages at other times.

Potential mini pupils must apply at any time in:

January for March/April placements;

May for June/July placements;

September for November/December placements.

Applications should be made by email to Jonathan Evans at minipupillage@4pb.com with a CV and covering letter setting out your reasons for applying to 4PB. Please send this along with an Equality and Diversity Monitoring Form
