Ruth Kirby KC, leading Mani Singh Basi and instructed Forum Shah and Ilona Józwiak of Dawson Cornwell, appeared in AA (Mother) v XX (Father) [2025] EWHC 2165.
This judgment concerns a committal judgment in proceedings concerning wardship, following the international abduction of the child from her mother at Tehran airport in January 2024. Despite the mother successfully obtaining a return order, the father failed to comply, and he mother had not seen her daughter for 19 months.
The court sentenced the respondent to 6-months imprisonment due to breaches of return orders, concerning a child aged 11.
