First reported family case on security for costs since the FPR

Piers Pressdee QC (instructed by Alexiou Fisher Phillips) succeeded for the mother in MG v AR [2021] EWHC 3063 (Fam), the first reported family case on security for costs since the Family Procedure Rules came into being.

Within his judgment, Mr Justice Mostyn considers FPR rules 20.6 and 20.7 and sets out the steps that must be taken and the principles to be applied by the court when considering an application for security for costs in both children’s and financial remedy proceedings.
