Court of Appeal case establishing that placement and private law non-agency adoption proceedings can be heard in parallel.

The Court of Appeal restated the principles applicable to the question of joinder of foster carers to care proceedings, but the case is of legal significance for being the first reported decision to establish, as Piers and Joanne argued, that a public law placement application and a private law non-agency adoption application could be determined in parallel.
