Chris Barnes and Andrew Powell to be appointed as King’s Counsel
Join us in congratulating Chris Barnes and Andrew Powell on the announcement of their appointment as King’s Counsel.
Both Chris and Andrew are widely respected for their technical skill and ability to deliver in the most demanding and complex proceedings. Their appointment as King’s Counsel is an exceptional and richly deserved achievement, recognising not only their excellence as advocates, but also their standing as leaders in family law.
They will be formally sworn in at a ceremony on 23 March 2026, where the Lord Chancellor will present Letters Patent on behalf of His Majesty The King.
Joint Heads of Chambers, Charles Hale KC and Barbara Mills KC commented:
“Chris and Andrew have long been recognised as leaders in family law, and it has been a privilege to see their practices develop at the very highest level. They are outstanding advocates with exceptional authority in their respective fields, and their work consistently sets the standard in the cases in which they are instructed. We are immensely proud to see them appointed King’s Counsel. It is a fitting recognition of their excellence and leadership.”
Over the past decade, 4PB has celebrated the appointment of 13 Silks. With soon to be 25 Silks in total, we are proud to maintain the largest number of King’s Counsel of any specialist family law set, reflecting the exceptional quality, breadth and depth of advocacy within Chambers, providing market-leading expertise across the full spectrum of family law.
We look forward to building on this momentum and continuing to deliver exceptional outcomes for clients throughout 2026 and beyond.
