Year of Call: 2025
Overview

Emily started pupillage in October 2025. She will be supervised by Mani Singh Basi, Katharine Bundell, Chris Barnes and Charlotte Baker.

Prior to commencing pupillage, Emily qualified as a social worker through the graduate programme Frontline. She spent three years in a Local Authority Child Protection Team, co-ordinating multi-agency professionals and working with families to make positive changes. She gained significant experience in applying for and obtaining Interim and Final Care Orders, Supervision Orders, Special Guardianship Orders and Adoption and Placement Orders, as well as completing s.7 and s.37 reports and supporting victims of domestic abuse to obtain Non-Molestation Orders.

For the last two years Emily has worked as an Independent Social Worker, completing care assessments and giving evidence as an expert witness on behalf of parents in their EHC Plan appeals in the Special Educational Needs First Tier Tribunal.

During her studies, Emily was involved with many interfaith and community building charities and organisations. She also volunteered with the School Exclusion Project, representing parents of children who had been permanently excluded at review panels, and a Housing Disrepair Clinic, assisting clients with appeals to the Housing Ombudsman.
