Joint Heads of Chambers Welcome Our Newest Silks

We are delighted to celebrate the appointments of Andrew Powell and Chris Barnes, a moment of real pride for them and for 4PB.

Andrew and Chris have long been recognised as leaders in family law, and it has been a privilege to witness their practices develop at the very highest level. They are outstanding advocates with exceptional authority in their respective fields, and their work consistently sets the standard in the cases in which they are instructed. We are immensely proud to see them appointed King’s Counsel, a fitting recognition of their excellence and leadership.

Year on year, we continue to see the strength of 4PB reflected in the quality of those stepping forward. With Andrew and Chris’ appointments, we will have 24 silks in total, with women making up half of that number. We are proud to be the only family set in London to have celebrated every Silks’ Day since 2020 with at least one new appointment. That consistency is not a coincidence; it reflects a set of chambers that continues to grow, evolve and lead at the Family Bar.

Every day we see exceptional advocates, a strong and supportive culture, and a shared commitment to excellence in everything we do. Andrew and Chris’ appointments are a celebration of that and a clear reminder of the strength of 4PB.
