30/07/13 Court of Appeal Judgment in Redcar v B [2013]
The Court of Appeal gave its reserved judgment today in Redcar v B [2013] EWCA 964. This is an important case dealing with the LA’s liability to make financial payments to family carers under s 20 and 22 Children act 1989. Jonathan Cohen QC acted for the successful LA.

24/07/13 Jane Probyn appointed as a Circuit Judge
Chambers warmly congratulates Jane Probyn as she takes up her appointment as a Circuit Judge today. She has been assigned to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Brighton County Court and will be known as Her Honour Judge Probyn.

13/06/13 Crisis Square Mile Run 2013
Members of chambers participated in the annual Crisis Square Mile Run on Thursday 13th June to raise money to end homelessness. The running team comprised of Kenny Martin, Chris Hames, Charles Hale, Justin Ageros, Dorothea Gartland, Andrew Powell, Harry Nosworthy, Julia Townend, Zoe Taylor and Maeve O'Rourke.  
12/06/13 Supreme Court hands down landmark judgment in Re B
The Supreme Court has delivered judgment in Re B [2013] UKSC 33 which has wide ranging implications for all public law children cases.  Alex verdan QC represented the child in the case, leading Elizabeth Woodcraft and they were both assisted by Julia Townend.  To read a short article about the case click here
