Jacqueline Renton has recently successfully represented a mother in Hague Convention 1980.

The mother secured an order for the summary return of her children to Australia, in circumstances where the mother had always been the children’s primary carer and they had been retained by the father after an agreed Christmas holiday. The case provides some helpful guidance on the article 13(b) child’s objections defence and judges speaking to children. The case has also attracted some media attention
